Professional Summary

You could say I am a grizzled veteran of the Chicago consulting world. I’ve worked for a variety of clients and industries including the arts, universities, non-profits, publishing and real estate. I’ve developed everything from simple brochure websites to complex CMS implementations to ground up custom PHP development. I am an open source enthusiast and I’m right at home developing on the LAMP stack. I can handle anything you can throw at me, from server configuration to front end CSS development. Duo Consulting
Chicago, IL

  • Led a three person team in the resurrection of three decommissioned publishing websites (BDCNetwork.com, ConstructionEquipment.com and HousingZone.com). Defined new content structure for legacy content and imported hundreds of thousands of records into the new CMS. We launched all three sites in just over 2 months, just in time for the client to show them off at a major trade show.
  • Quickly integrated myself into a well established project team and began contributing immediately to a complex custom Zend Framework application (CouponCabin.com) under a tight deadline. We launched on time.
  • For a ticket comparison site (SeatCity.com), developed robust command line batch processing program to aggregate event, performer and ticket data from multiple web service providers including Ebay, StubHub and TicketsNow.
  • Worked closely with Director of Development and project managers to develop proposals, estimates and development plans.

Senior Web Developer
Jan. 2008 – Mar. 2009

Playboy Enterprises, Inc.
Chicago, IL

  • Worked closely with multiple business sponsors to develop several applications tied directly to revenue generation. Participated in Agile development process by breaking user stories down into development tasks, identifying dependencies and providing estimates regarding development time.
  • Developed a system to store, track, assemble and deliver promotional content for a large number of niche websites. This significantly decreased the amount of manual labor involved in assembling massive amounts of content and registering that content with multiple affiliate marketing systems.
  • Planned, architected and developed major rewrite of in-house media distribution system. Advanced application from supporting a single 3rd party affiliate system into modular system that supports multiple affiliate systems.
  • Implemented automated build and deployment using Phing to minimize manual steps and human error when deploying code to multiple environments. This decreased manual labor and increased successful deployments.
  • Coordinated code releases with operations team using detailed release notes and no physical access to the production server. Conducted pre-release and post-release functional testing.
